The Moffat:

"I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything. I was laughing madly as I typed along to Christmas songs in April. My neighbours loved it so much they all moved away and set up a website demanding my execution. But I'm fairly sure they did it ironically."

Cannot wait for the Doctor Who Christmas Special.

Y'know, I love The Moffat, but this year I've finally come to realise that I hate all these little tidbits that movie and TV celebrities get quoted for in various publications. Gratuitous hyperbole and ditzy gushing seem par for the course, and even this dry wit is grating on me. I only ever see them when they have something to promote, and they never say anything that makes me want to see it more, only less.

That was rather ranty. Maybe I should have saved it for my own journal. :)

How about a little Joss Whedon reaction to the Buffy movie remake?

"I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER."

I like hearing the Makers using their wit in a non-scripted format. :)

See, that's not promotion. :)

True, I spose. You know what's even better than Celebrity Promotion Speak? When they hate the thing they're meant to be promoting, and hence badmouth it. Like Robert Pattinson on Twilight:

“When I read it, I was convinced Stephenie was convinced that she was Bella, and it was like a book that wasn’t supposed to be published... Like some things about Edward are so specific, I was just convinced, like, ‘This woman is mad. She’s completely mad and she’s in love with her own fictional creation.’ And sometimes you would feel uncomfortable reading this thing.”
