Thank you. I've never really written a Dark!fic before, and never had to be mean to any characters, so that was different for me. It's also fun to try to imagine how people in the 1800s would regard alien technology, and even more important, how they'd respond to it.
I am hoping that you'll do a few more modern day Mag7 and Falling Skies crossover stories - one good thing with Falling Skies is that so many different fandoms can use that universe/scenario without ever using any of the characters from the show.
You are doing a fine job of continuing this AU. I love that we get glimpses of Nathan's awful past mixed with the good things he's come to know. And then it goes sideways for him (and the others), poor darling.
It says something I'm actually more interested in Falling Skies now that I've read some of the crossovers. :D
It's a great show. They've got a lot of child/teen characters/actors on there, and sometimes that can hurt a show - either the kids are too bratty or too cute, or too mouthy. On Falling Skies, they just come across as kids. Nice and normal kids that have been thrust into a situation that they don't always understand. Just like the adults. Only the adults know how serious it all is, and the younger kids can still hold onto the possibility that life can return to the way it was before.
Oh poor Nathan! After everything he's lived through, those segments of his life you lay out, to have reached the point we see him in the show and then have it all turn to horror like this.
I really like the way you're working the Falling Skies premise into the OW setting.
Thank you. I think it does help with having the old west setting as opposed to a more modern one - this way, I can mess around with any kind of tech the aliens might have had then, and not worry about how it might conflict with the show.
Working on the next story now. I've had some problems getting the right voice - tried J.D. and his screen test didn't go so well, neither did Buck's. So, Ezra's getting an audition, and seems to be doing well so far :-)
