The birthday season continues with Kaiden's 5th today.
A bit of a rushed affair but definitely enjoyable. They live in this beautiful building with a perfect patio / playground right out front that was just great for the party. And the weather was perfect, we're back up to being 10-12 degrees. We had to take off early before cake which Hunter objected to, but Jason was off to see Motley Crue and, being slightly under the weather, I didn't want to have to bus home from there which would've taken several buses and probably a good hour at least.
Hunter actually managed to get himself on the climber via the slide which was quite impressive. And I managed to sit inside (other people were watching the kids) for a few minutes at a time without worrying too much that he was going to fall off (which he didn't).
The kids played Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Donkey, which was the first time that 'real' games had ever really been tried at any of their parties. I think Kylene (Kaiden's mum) had it right on because they all loved it. I've always looked at games but really had no idea what age kids are when they're ready. 4 or 5 seems to be about right.
More outdoor fun
Presents! Alas it seems that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which Kaiden really loves, just aren't cool anymore. There was not a single TMNT toy on the shelves of Zellers. Not even a puzzle. So Hunter chose a Transformers Superion collection instead which seemed to go over as well as anything.
