RP Thread - Locked to hunter_navi and _megaman_x

Birthdays were always a nice reason to celebrate, even if her own birthday didn't tend to be as wild or big as some parties thrown at HQ Alia still enjoyed it. A few pieces of leftover cake were now stored in her fridge, and the gifts she had recieved from coworkers were over on her coffee table

X had just picked up a few cups that had been left lying about. He smiled as Alia spoke. "Of course. Good food, good company, good occasion. What's not to like."

He picked up one more cup and then took a detour into the kitchen area to set them down. He'd offered to clean up, after all, even if it had been mostly an excuse to stay after for a bit.

Alia chuckled softly as walked over to the living room area, looking around to see if there were any other dishes left laying out. X seemed to have gotten to the dishes first, so she picked up any remaining bits of litter and followed X into the kitchen to throw them away. "Thanks for staying to help, X. I really appreciate it."

X smiled as she joined him in the kitchen. "It's no problem, Alia. Besides, it's your birthday. You shouldn't have to clean up on your own." He finished setting the cups into the washer before turning to face her fully and smiled warmly. "I still have to give you your present, you know."

With the last of the dishes in the washer, she closed it and started in on a wash cycle She grinned a bit impishly at X, and replied in an teasingly overenthusiastic voice, "So what did you get me?"

The hug was... nice. Chances to be this close to X like this were few, and being around X always made her comfortable. She started to slowly pull back, trying not to seem relucant about it, but she didn't want to linger in the hug too long so it wouldn't start to feel awkward or anything. She smiled up at X again, her cheeks flushed ever so slightly. "As I said, it's beautiful."

X didn't want the hug to end. It was rare that he got the chance to just hold her. But she was pulling away, so he relaxed his embrace and let her pull back, though he let his hands linger lightly on her shoulders. He smiled back, delighted that she liked it so much. "I know. It is." His cheeks flushed faintly as he continued. "I thought it would look nice on you."

Alia fought back another faint blush as she felt X's hands linger on her shoulders. She held up the bracelet in one hand and tried to keep from sounding hesitant as she asked, "... Want to help me put it on?"

X smiled softly at her question. Without his conscious decision, his thumb briefly brushed gently over her shoulder. "Sure." Then, he gave her shoulder a light, reassuring squeeze before he let go and drew his hands away. "Here." His cheeks flushed faintly again as he reached for the bracelet.
