Deception Seventeen: Lazy Days of Summer

Aug 13, 2011 23:22

I have to say it's rather interesting to see that people are trying to become the Police Chief. After all we know what happened to the last one don't we? It turns out there is death here after all.

Please try and remember that. People seem to forget that under the cheerful facade this place is quite twisted and dark. At least until the next event   ( Read more... )

I believe merely droning any who might take the position into a copy of Olney would be too kind an act of them.

Indeed it is a nice coincidence. It would seem our captors subscribe to the idea of idle hands.

Perhaps. Or they might find it amusing. I very much doubt that it would be the only thing done. But seeing him around again would unnerve people.

Apparently so.

It would. But I would argue it would unnerve people even more to see one of their own, as their own, broken down and forced into our captors service. The same person they had always known, only hollowed out and changed to the town's benefit.

I doubt people forget that this place can be a living nightmare. Merely, they push out of their minds the bad when they can, so as not to shatter.

However, hearing what I have on returning, I agree that one should certainly be careful of becoming one of them if they sign up to possibly take over Grady's place...

That could be. Though they make foolish decisions because of it.

And what sort of foolish decisions do you mean?

The town offers people deals. The same people seem to take them. Now I know some of them are doing it for their own reasons. But some people will seem to forget that you can't trust this place. And just make the same mistakes over and over again.

[Glances over. Hello talking pony.]

Hello Rarity.

Yes it is rather nice out today. Are you going somewhere? Or just out for a walk as well?

Yes, I thought I'd get out a bit and enjoy the warm weather while it lasts. After all, it'll be time for the seasons to change soon.

Yes that is true. We'll be having fall soon.

Hmmm....come October I'll have been here for a year now.

I would assume those applying for the post should be well-aware of the risks. Whether this makes them more or less foolish is, of course, debatable.

Your warning towards complacency may well fall on deaf ears. After all, to forget and ignore are both all-too human methods of coping.

I should hope so. Some people tend to ignore reality and the possible risks in the world.

Yes, you may be right. But I felt I should at least try to warn them. Even if they do simply forget again.

Mm, while I suppose stumbling forward without paying mind to consequences has a romantic appeal, from a certain standpoint. I should hope few subscribe to such a school of action, in practice.

Regardless, it's rather pleasant to hear such an act of good samaritanism in a place such as this.

Sadly you'll find that isn't the case here.

Hopefully it will actually help.
