While I wait to find out if the drugs will chase this headache away in time for me to enjoy the lovely spring day, here is a fairly frivolous survey-type thing all the cool kids are doing which will show you just how out of the pop-cultural loop I've been.

Empire Magazine has revealed its list of the "50 Greatest TV Shows" ever. Below is the list ( Read more... )

i did like DS9. the men in the house watched it weekly. i liked sisko and odo and the guy with the lizard head. wait, am i mixing up shows? the lizard guy was in voyager, maybe. (they blur in my mind, but then, i was sort of a secondary fan.)

i watched every Barney Miller, most of Taxi, every Soap. this is dating me, very badly. :D

Guy with the lizard head? Quark (DS9), Neelix (Voyager), or somebody else? If it was someone who showed up in the last 2 seasons of Voyager, I wouldn't know them, I'm afraid.

I didn't watch every Soap, but I did see a few. A sitcom I didn't always hate. :-)

Sisco and Odo and Garak were on DS9...Garak was lizard faced, or snake...

Farscape is my all-time favorite live-action science-fiction series. (Yay, hyphenates!) I would very much recommend both Scrubs and Heroes. Family Guy is also good if you're OK with shows that are basically endless streams of pop-culture references and bizarre social commentary.

Aren't Scrubs and Family Guy sitcoms? I'm still not a fan of those, I'm afraid.

I guess they are, I just don't think of them that way. I mean, they don't bare many resemblances to ordinary sitcoms. Scrubs in particular is just awesome in how it handle character interaction and whatnot. ^*^ It honestly just has a lot of heart.

I did miss your note about hating sitcoms, though. Apparently my brain filtered Seinfeld out of the list entirely. I couldn't stand that show.
