Good news! Changes have been made at crack_broom. Some pairing (more than I thought) have been demoted to rare pair status while others (D/G D/G D/G!!!) have been bumped up to the monthly rotation. I take back everything I ever said about the stubbornness of mods. Also, the butthurt on that post from some shippers is very amusing

I'm shocked to see Snarry demoted, but kind of ... pleased. I know that's wrong but it's one of the pairings that I am just not interested in.

The Snupin shipper kicking off in the comments has me cracking up. Calm down love, it's nothing to do with the ~rich history of the pairing.

There's another one at it now further down. omfg they just need to shut up already. It's funny, and yet I feel kind of sorry for the mods. Like one of them said - it's not the mods fault to chase people up continuously to rec things, and if the rare pair queue consistently had more people willing to rec another pairing then naturally it should get preference.

That said, I was shocked to see Snarry demoted. They always seemed to have quite a few people rec'ing them... or maybe it was the same couple of people rec'ing all the time.

So excited though!

I find it ludicrous that there are a few people complaining that they shouldn't have done this because of Comic Con. Really? What proportion of the community could that have really affected?

I count Snarry to be one of the major slash pairings, second only to H/D. Maybe it's the shock the shippers need though (pretty much what you said in the comments there).

Ludicrous is about the right word for it. I kind of just want to scream at them that this isn't a recent decision. People have been petitioning for changes for a long time now - it isn't the mods' faults that they didn't keep up to date with the bits and pieces around the comm.

I think they've decided to change it from rare pair to featured pair. Or something like that since it's not technically a rare pair but a rarely requested pairing - if that makes sense. Honestly, I don't keep enough of an eye on the HP slash community to know what is popular and what isn't anymore.
