I've been wondering all along when you were going to relate your story's title to the plot, as it was obvious you were building towards something, but I couldn't see quite what. Obviously I'm not as bright as Hermione when it comes to carefully evaluating a bad scenario that could lead to a much bigger disaster. It all makes sense now, and...YIKES. This chapter literally gave me shivers for what it could portend.

It does seem to have taken forever to get to this point, but I've always been headed in this direction. One of the points, as I was just discussing with Goofy, is that this isn't an easy problem with a simple solution. We're talking gray, not black and white. But, yes, there's a little potential for nastiness.

Thanks for commenting! :-D

Pfft- that's just because I was too dense to connect the dots which you have clearly laid out from the beginning!

And I agree with your discussion with Goofy: it's the shades of gray that make it all scary. I believe we've discussed before that I come from a conservative religious background. And one reason why fundamentalists loooove rules is because they're safe. When everything is black or white, right or wrong, good or evil - it's so easy to make decisions and one isn't left mired in this world of moral ambiguity in which being "almost" right can suddenly be the same as being horrifically wrong. You're illustrating this SO WELL here, both with the situation Matthew's family was dealing with (Hogwarts? Well, it involves witchcraft and must therefore be EVIL! Decision made!) and with the potential for disaster with the wizarding world's response ( ... )

And once they start gathering information, you'll get an even wider range of reactions. Plus, the Muggle-haters aren't all gone; they've just been silenced. And the dividing lines this time won't be drawn the same, so, yeah, lots of fun coming.

And I'm glad it's seeming "deep" and not "obvious", which is how it usually feels to me.

Don't I wish I could write full-time. However, Goofy's doing the bills and taxes right now; I don't think the suggestion would go over too well. ;-)

I'm glad you're still enjoying it.

Hello,
I've been enjoying this story from the first, and I was so glad when I checked this month to find another chapter! I've been really enjoying the microscope of Harry's family and the macroscope of the wizarding world and the muggle world (which I suspect we're about to see more of) dealing with issues like these. Really great story!
