You raise such good points about the parenting aspect of the books. How Hermione's parents just shipped her off like that without knowing much of anything...

We don't really know how much Hermione's parents knew/were told. But, yes, it was certainly something that struck me while I was reading the books.

Oh, this was fun! I loved Malfoy shouting into the phone, particularly because it amuses me to see similarities between him and Ron. *snicker* And great job as usual coming up with the kinds of parental questions any of us would be asking under such circumstances!

And you and I both can't help but read the books through the "parent" filter. It's fun!
