Okay, you guys...

I've got one month to get the manuscript ready for my editor. I plan on sending him an e-mail around the 15th to make sure we're still on track. So... Could I ask any of you who are reading it to give me an idea of your thoughts by the 15th? Even if you don't get to the end, anything you can add or suggest would be greatly ( Read more... )

Sure. I'm pretty bad at line-by-line stuff, but I can at least notice any weird glaring continuity errors or something of that sort.

(Capitalizing King is one of my favorite things to do... :S)

It's 430 pages, double spaced. 121,773 words. Is that a bit too long?

That IS quite long. :D I could read parts, at least - like the beginning and if there are some passages you're especially uncertain of. Or half-read half-skim through all of it, if that's better... whatever you want.

Most people reading are going chapter by chapter. But I would like a perspective that gets to the end, if you can. :)

Shit, I've just realised I'm totally late for this... I'm, er, up to chapter 22 or something. I have additional notes supplementary to the ones I've already thrown at you... dunno if it's too late for that now. Bugger.

Actually, I was thinking today about which Pokémon represent which characters in my head...
I'm thinking:
Diyn & Meg: Croconaw (except purple, or whatever colour it was you decided on)
Wybren: Charmeleon (but with wings, obviously)
Philip: Empoleon (what else? Philipip and other pengs would be demoted to being prinplups)
Rob: Ursaring (okay, this is basically the only option for Rob, but still... give it a kilt and you're good.)

Also:

Air Keepers: Aerodactyl!
Great Draig: Salemence!
The Nightmare: Darkrai?

I have no fuckin' clue what the Nightmare looks like and can't get the "vampire" image from Kirby's Adventure out of my head...

Don't worry. I'm putting it off until January because I have no money. :(

Damn it, now I'll be picturing thousands of prinplups when I write a Pengish invasion. :(

The Nightmare is supposed to be very much hidden for most of tDP. He's a bigger player in book 2 and will get a much fuller description. For now, he's supposed to be shrouded.
