Hugh signs with commercial music label.....
Well, it's been in ink for a while, but Warner Music Canada has now officially announced that they have signed Hugh to a multi-album record deal.
Speaking as someone coming from the industry in the past, Warner is one of the best labels for Hugh to hook up with. They do their artists right, and have (in my opinion) the best A&R guy in the country (I won't call him out here). I don't doubt that they will give Hugh the attention and support he deserves. Their stable of Canadian artists includes Blue Rodeo, Great Big Sea, Billy Talent, and Alanis Morissette.
As some of you know, Hugh has basically had his second album Works Well With Others ready to go for quite a while now, but it has been set aside due to his non-stop shooting schedule the past couple of years. He's been refining it the past few months and althought the title of the CD is not quite yet etched in stone, it is due out this fall. Don't expect a tour right away though - once shooting ends on Flashpoint he'll be heading straight to Montreal again to shoot the third season of Durham County, which will run until the end of November.
