THE INTERNATIONAL STEAMPUNK CITY!
Simply this: Never before in the history of the Steampunk movement has an ENTIRE TOWN opened its gates to you, the Steampunk community.

Haha, I was about to say the same thing.
The museum is great and the event sounds fab, but I can't think of many towns I would like to 'wander through'less.

Plus public transport wasteland.

And, it IS to benefit the Museum, which, based on their website, seems to be a pretty cool place.

Well, I for one don't give a damn about the drivers, as I'll be there for the AWESOME. A whole town done Steampunk? SQUEE!

I've talked to Jeff about the event a bit, and it looks like it's shaping up to be something truly fabulous. Lots of events, lots of vendors, lots of performers, lots of really nifty things, and a whole town through which to wander. I like the idea of it, and the people behind it. And if I know Jeff, he'll make sure as much of it is walkable as possible.

It's also Mother's Day weekend. I'm still planning on going, but it will probably be best attended on Saturday. I'm going to jump the shark and say this has the potential of a Steampunk analog to Pennsic War, though.
