Travelled yesterday over a mountain pass with lots of llamas, alpacas, vacunas, and a similar species whose name I forget. We took lots of photos. The top of the pass was at 4900m. Someone was sick, but I felt OK! ended at Chivay, wich is 3300m ( Read more... )

WHAT? You over that high a pass? Without acclimitisation? No wonder people were suffering. Having said that, you're still far more likely to suffer from some infection from eating or drinking the wrong stuff than from altitude sickness. Sounds like you'll be ok, given a day or two, although is still rubbish you are ill. Altitude sickness will start with headaches and dizziness, not vomiting.
