Getting to Know You...(I think I just created a meme)

Ok Peeps...

I have been working like crazy over the last few days and haven't had a whole lot of time to read or post to LJ.  Since I have been working so much, my poor ipod seems like it has been on repeat.  I love Whitney to death, but if she sings It's Not Right, but It's Ok one more time, I may have to cut her.

So...I need new music.  Don't worry ( Read more... )

Sold! I love The Way I Are and Ne-yo. Will pick up Gwen's song. I hated the Sound of Music song she did though.

New Music I am loving right now... allnitecp August 17 2007, 16:22:11 UTC
If you don't have Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen's CD's by now, you need to get them. Amy's 'Tears Dry on there Own' and Lily's 'Smile' are good enough tracks to buy the whole cd's for, but the whole CD's are great, been on repeat for me all summer.

Hillary Duff's new one is (suprisingly) pretty good too, although the dance mixes of her songs tend to be better than the album mixes. Check out 'Stranger' and 'Love'.

And if you haven't taken Chris's advice already and picked up Rhianna's new one, you should get that as well.

In a much more mellow tone, I have fallen in love with the remake of David Bowie's 'Modern Love' by The Last Town Chorus. Its the song they have been playing on the previews for the Princess Di movie. I love what the chick did with the steel guitar in this song!
Check out the YouTube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAypnmdiCEk

That should get you over Whitney till she comes out with some new stuff eventually.....

I'm the one who turned Chris onto Rihanna, LOL! He owes me. Amy Winehouse is a good idea. Not familiar with Lily allen, I will check it out. Thank you!

You vs. Me - Horrorpops Bring It On!
Trouble Sleeping - The Perishers Let There Be Morning
Riot - The Sounds Living In America
Muzika Dyla Fil'Ma - Persephone's Bees Notes From The Underworld

My Top 5 "You've Probably Never Heard" Albums:

Nickel Creek - This Side (Bluegrass fusion)
Pilaseca - Afrodisiaco (Mexican funk)
Jonathan Elias - The Prayer Cycle (A nine-part chorale symphony featuring Alanis Morisette, James Taylor, and Linda Ronstadt)
Angela Aki - Home (Japanese Light Pop, but the music is more American than Japanese. Her Album "These Words" is better, but hard to come by legally)
Michelle Branch - The Spirit Room (High-Energy Pop)

Heh. No, you do NOT. And that song was by Ryan Cabrera, and it was called "True".
