I'm sorry I didn't get to see you after the feast. One of the girls in the dorm had a new shade of lipstick and since I'm the best makeup person EVER (they even said I was as good at putting on makeup as their MOMS!) she wanted me to do it for her. I wait in the library for Caleb as asked. I do hope he'll come soon so I can give him a big hug and a proper kiss. I love him so much... I was kind oof excited by what he said about helping that girl with her makeup. I hope he'll help me with mine... I'd relish a chance to do something girly. Especially with my darling!

I grin at Madam Pince as I flounce into the library. She doesn't smile back, but at least she doesn't glare. I know she likes me, but my friends can be a bit loud. That's probably why I'm getting a look.

Silly old bat.

I walk up and down the rows of books until I find the table that Jason is sitting at, and move behind him, then cover his eyes.

"Guess who?!" I giggle, then lean down and kiss his cheek.

"Caleb!" I giggle and hug him, snuggling close, purring like a happy kitten. "I'm so glad you're here!"

I notice Madam Pince look sharply at us as she passes by, and stick my tongue out at her as soon as she's gone.

I pull Caleb down onto the seat beside me, and kiss him lightly on the lips. No one seems to be too close to us, so it's safe.

Oh, I do love him!

I didn't want to think about the bad stuff that happened this summer, but of course that's what was on my mind. "Did you hear that Riddle adopted my cousin? Do you think that makes him my uncle or something? Mum and Dad said no, but they seemed pretty happy with what happened with Walden. They sent Riddle a thank you gift. I know Dru - you know, Walden's sister, my cousin - said something like she could finally relax now knowing that Walden would be taken care of. But my grandparents are missing and I heard they went to the mountains. I think something's going to happen."

I catch my breath, having said that in a matter of seconds, and calm down.
