I have gone for a quick fly to clear the cobwebs if anybody would care to join me. For pity's sake somebody reassure me I am slightly companionable.

Well, you did direct partially towards me, so I have a right to respond. If I'm naffed off at someone, I at least have the guts to say so to them directly rather than making snide comments in a roundabout way. Really, if you want to convince people that you do have a sense of humour, this is a pretty poor way to go about it.
