Below: an image of a vacant, but decently maintained, log house I drove by while last in the field. It is not owned by the state, but is surrounded by 14,000 acres of state park and is in a pretty remote area near the Pennsylvania border. Oooh! That sounds wonderful. There are a lot of old farm ruins in the woods back home - it's incredibly common to find the remains of old walls that used to separate one farmstead from another.

Let me know if you need someone to come along with you some time - I'm not trained, but I really enjoy this sort of thing.
