Heh. While obviously, I know the layperson's understanding of scientific theory is a big issue, I can't help but look at this as a swindle.

"These pencils are 5 cents apiece"
"Hmm..."
"But today's special is 5 for a quarter."
"Oooh, I'll take 5!"

wow, that cnn article marks the first time that reading all the comments in a news post didn't piss me off. i strongly disagreed with many of the viewpoints, but at the very least, none of them were stark raving stupidity. normally i'm against censorship, but i guess moderating public response for something like this is the way to go. ...and it does make me happy that they didn't seem to moderate with a bias for or against any particular viewpoint.

yeah it's always nice to see religious peeps who aren't fucktards. there are certainly many, but as with anything else, the fucktards are louder.

It's not that they're necessarily LOUDER, but just that they, on average, spend a larger proportion of their time talking. The rest of us are thinking about what to say.
