as a sociologist in the making (hahahaha....) I tend to ask the question, what is the purpose of an LJ? Or the whole internet community of bloggers and blogging? Seriously, there are new research projects going on presently about the blogging phenomenon and the culture of internet communities. So, what is the potential of LJ? Why did you get one? Was it to read about other people? was it to journal your thoughts? was it to be "trendy" and be a part of one of the lastest social "actvities"? Its different for everybody. You decide what your LJ is for and how to use it. If you aren't satisfied, well I hate to be frank about it, but change it. If you are here to post about yourself, your thoughts, your feelings, etc... then post more to satisfy that need. If you are here to just read, well maybe replying to other people more would help you feel like you're fulfilling your need. I don't know, all I'm saying is that there is no potential for LJ - it is what you make it. On that note, it is YOUR LJ, don't try to satisfy others,

atleast you don't have a puppy there that LOVES to put the phrase "the dog ate my homework" to good use. She EATS/CHEWS on EVERYTHING!! I have my notebook laying on my bed, and she's eating it. I heard her gnawing on something and looked, ya she was chewing on one of my metal hair clips!! She's worse/more distracting than Anela!! LOL but we love her just as much... :)~
