I loved Aesop's fables, because in every story there was always someone (and usually multiple someones) just being complete dicks.

Like a lot of Kipling Just-So stories, too, where giraffes have long necks because they're dumb fucks and elephants have long noses because they have all the evolved survival instincts of dryer lint. I like stories where stupid/evil people are abused.

Aha. Well, it's an interesting question--what do we make of morals we learn when we're younger? If we're smart, we question them. If we're moral, we honor them. If we're both smart and moral, we honor their spirit but ridicule their simplicity. All in good fun.
