No, no, no, not that "Eye-Rack" war (though you'd think it is, since it's not in the news any more). I'm talking about the high-definition disc format war!Tokyo (Japan) - The HD format war is officially over, as Toshiba today announced that it has stopped developing, manufacturing or marketing of HD DVD players. I have to say that I was rooting for HD-DVD. I'm not invested in either format though, so I don't really care. BR is generally a pretty nice format, and there's really no DRM that will ever work so I don't care about that. The only disadvantage of BR is that some of them won't play DVDs, I think.

I think Walmart choosing BluRay was the final nail in the coffin. But yeah, this won't affect me too much until they stop making DVDs or BluRay discs drop to near-DVD prices.
