Enjoy, minna-san!
"Hikari-chan, you can place your bags there, I'll just get them for you," Inoo Kei said as he helped Takaki Hikari, Takaki Yuya's wife (well, they're going to get divorce any moment), get down from the car.
"Ie," Hikari said. "I can handle my own bags, thank you." She grabbed her suitcase.
"No," argued Inoo, taking her bags away from her. "You just came from the hospital, did you forget? You still have wounds. What are you trying to do, worry me?"
Hikari swallowed. She never heard Inoo talk this seriously before.
Inoo smiled. "Don't worry; I was just kidding. Just don't push yourself too much, ok?"
"Hai," replied Hikari.
"Is that Hikari I see beside you Kei?" a voice called from the balcony.
"Hai, it's her, oka-san," answered Inoo while taking Hikari's stuff from his car.
A woman in her 50s happily went down the house and hugged Hikari warmly in her arms. "Ah, shashiburi, Hikari! Oh, I wanted to see you so much!"
"Arigatou, oba-chan," Hikari said, smiling.
Inoo's mother let go of the hug. "How are you and Takaki? Are things going well between you two?"
Hikari looked down on the floor.
"Ah, oka-san, I'll explain everything later," Inoo said hurriedly. "Right now, can you please cook dinner for us? We're rather hungry."
"No," Hikari said. "I'll cook dinner. It's the least I can do."

"Oishi!" the Inoo family exclaimed upon tasting Hikari's dishes.
"Sasu ga Hikari-chan!" Inoo's older sister, Inoo Aya, said.
"Thank you," Hikari said politely.
"Ja, would you care to tell me now what happened?" Inoo's mother said.
Inoo and Hikari looked at each other and nodded. Inoo did all the explanation.
"That's why she's here; she needs time to think," ended Inoo.
The house was quiet. "Then stay here as long as you like," oka-san said. "You're welcome here anytime, you know."
"Arigatou, oba-chan," Hikari said with tears in her eyes.

Takaki paced in his room back and fourth. He was holding his cell phone nervously. Hikari isn't with her mother; nor with her best friend, Sayu. Where on earth could she be? he thought.
"THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!" he screamed as he threw the bed sheets angrily. If only I wasn't so hot-headed.
Wait...could Kei know where she is? After all, the last time I saw her was when I sent her out with Kei....
Takaki quickly dialed Inoo's number.
"Yes? What is it?" Inoo asked.
"Do you know where Hikari is right now?" he said with a quiet tone.
Should I or should I not tell him? Inoo bit his lip in thought. Then, his selfish instincts told not to. "Isn't she with you?" he asked.
"No," Takaki replied. "She...she left home."
"Hikari-chan left home?!" Inoo said with a fake surprised voice.
"Yeah, she..she told me things are going differently between us."
"She told that to you face to face?" Inoo asked, even though he knows the answer.
"No she gave me a letter," answered Yuya. "Well, I'll just keep searching. Tell me if you have some information."
Then Takaki hanged up.
Gomen, Takaki. Inoo thought as he stared at his cell phone. But I'm not sure if you still deserve Hikari-chan after what you did.

Hikari browsed the pages of their photo album. All the pictures showed her dates with Takaki. Some showed the three of them (with Kei). She still remembers the day she first met him...
Some years ago...
"Hikari-chan!" Inoo called quietly. Kei had just arrived in the library where his girlfriend is doing some research.
"Kei-kun," Hikari greeted with a smile at her boyfriend.
"I want to introduce to you my childhood friend, Takaki Yuya." A boy with brown locks appeared beside Kei. He was tall and cool-looking, opposite of his boyfriend who was cute-looking.
"Hajimemashite," Hikari said with a bow. "Watashi wa Tsubasa Hikari desu. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!"
"Domo," the boy said with a smile. "Ore wa Takaki Yuya desu."
"We've together since 7 years old," Inoo narrated. "I didn't expect to see him in Meiji University. For all I know, Yuya is not the studious type."
"Hey, I study too, you know!" Takaki said, punching Kei's shoulder.
While Kei was complaining about how his shoulder hurt, Hikari and Takaki's eyes met. Hikari smiled and looked away.
......
"I'm coming in," Inoo announced as he opened the door. Hikari immediately wiped the tears of her eyes.
"I brought you some ice cream," he said. He was carrying a tray with two tall glasses. He sat on the chair in front of Hikari.
"Here," he handed to glass to her. Hikari accepted it with a slight smile.
"Have you been crying?" Kei asked.
"Uh-No! I was just--"
"You were thinking about him? About Yuya?"
"I...guess...so...."
"It's really hard to forget someone you really love, huh? Ah re? Are those our pictures? Let me see!" Inoo sat beside Hikari.
"It makes me remember," he said with a laugh. "How our past were. How you broke up with me..."
Some years ago....
"Na-Nani?" Inoo asked with shock.
"Gomen, Kei-kun," Hikari said. "I really loved you. But ever since I met him I..."
"How could you even brake up with me if you don't know his true feelings for you?" Inoo asked, crying.
"I wanted to tell you this now," replied Hikari. "I don't want this relationship to go on if I'm not sure of my feelings anymore..."
"Why?" Kei stepped towards Hikari. "WHY?!" he shouted in grief. "I love so much, Hikari. I love very, very much that I...I'm willing to give you everything. " He hugged Hikari tightly. "Why? What did you see in him that you didn't see in me? What did he give you that I wasn't able to give?" Tears were flowing out of his eyes.
"I...I don't know," Hikari replied. "Every time I'm with him, my heart skips a beat. I don't know why, I'm confused..." Hikari didn't want to continue anymore. She didn't want to hurt Kei's feelings.
"After 2 years of our relationship, it's just going to end here?" Inoo released Hikari from his embrace. "I want to spend my whole life with you...I wanted to have a perfect, married life with you, Hikari. I love you so much..."
"I'm sorry," Hikari said, crying. "I'm sorry."
She kissed Inoo's cheeks and went away.
.....
Losing his wife, Yuya remembered how he confessed to Hikari after a month of her break up with Kei...
Some years ago (again)...
"You're moving?!" Inoo and Takaki said in unison. They were in the school cafeteria, and Hikari just dropped a big news.
"Why so suddenly?" Inoo asked.
"As you both know, mom and dad separated. Mom wants to go back now to Osaka to start a new life. She wanted to leave Tokyo and go back to her hometown with me," Hikari explained. "At least, that's what I heard on the phone when she was talking to someone."
"Why don't you stay with oji-san then?" Inoo suggested.
"Are crazy?" Hikari said, still with a smile. "For the man who cheated on my mother? Not a chance!"
"Sorry," Kei said with a tone of embarrassment.
Later that night...
"I...I wanted to talk to you before you say goodbye...."Takaki said to Hikari. They were in Sakura Park now, and the stars are shining brilliantly.
"What is it?"Hikari asked.
"Ummm..." he looked up. "The stars are shining today, huh?"
Hikari smile and looked up too. "They are beautiful."
Takaki looked at her. "Yeah...but not as beautiful as..." his voice trailed off as Hikari looked at him. She was staring him in the eyes.
"Not as beautiful as friendship, right?" Hikari said. "You know, what? I feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world for having you and Kei-kun by my side. You're both loyal friends." She looked at her watch. "Oops! Sorry but my mom might be looking for me.
I can't stay outside for this long." She started to leave.
Takaki just looked at her, hiding his shock. Friends? Is that what she thought of me all this time?
"Tsubasa, wait!" he called.
Hikari was already far away so she didn't her him. Takaki didn't stop though. He hugged Hikari from the back, making her gasp because of shock.
"Takaki-kun!" she said. "What's wrong?"
"Tsubasa--Iie, Hikari."
Hikari held her breath. "Na-nani?"
"Don't go," he whispered to her ear.
Hikari remained silent.
"Don't go because...because I don't know what I'll do if you go," he said, hugging her more tightly. "Hikari, I--I love you. I love you..."he repeated. "I want to know if you feel the same way...or, you just see me as a friend."
Hikari smiled. "Taka--Iie, Yuya." She turned to face him. "I love you too. Actually, from the day I met you you've been giving a lot of trouble."
Takaki's eyes widened. "Is that true? Do you really like me?"
Hikari nodded.
"YES! WOO-HOO!" Takaki jumped childishly. "Ja," he faced Hikari. "Would you be my girlfriend?"
Hikari was silent with shock. "I..." she smiled. "Of course!"
.....
Takaki crumpled the letter in his hands. "Hikari, where are you? Please come home. I need you..."
