I don't get it. In 2005, the LDs got 22% of the vote, 9.6% of the seats and no significant influence on the government of the country. This time they've got 23% of the vote, 8.7% of the seats, and a huge influence on the government of the country. Why are people protesting now and not then?

The latter point means that they see a prospect of the protest actually resulting in a change to the outcome, I guess? I was tempted to counter-protest with a sign asking Nick Clegg how proportional he thinks a party with 59 MPs where 52 are men and 7 are women is, but I have better things to do with my life.

I dunno. 23% of the vote and 100% of the say in who becomes Prime Minister looks like quite a sweet deal to me, I'm not surprised they want to try and make it permanent.
