Fly-by post!

This weekend is full of visits to the family, and tonight is no exception. I'm off to my parents' in a little while to enjoy what looks like one of the last really nice days of summer for a while... Please cross your fingers that the rain will stay away tomorrow, or that will be the fourth (out of five) motorcycle lessons to be completed while ( Read more... )

I haven't read the books you're referring but I don't need to know anything to know that this is a really lovely piece...despite the fact that he's missing his hand! I particularly like the hilites & shadows in his pants. Very dramatic.

Hope the rain stays away for you!

I think you'd enjoy the books (and then you can read shimotsuki's fic for them, as well as know the full meaning of hrymfaxe's art!). I love these as much as Chalion and I don't say that very often. There's a spoiler free review of them here. One caveat: the first book is good but aimed at a young audience; it's the next two where I got hooked/obsessed/started raving about them to passing people on LJ. ;)

Oh I agree that the books really pick up pace and depth from the second book, but the first one is so great for showing the readers how they have no clue what is going on. ;)

Please rave about books to me even more often!

I might have another one for you some time (so we can fill in the ttime till CoK;)), but it's early days/chapters and I haven't fallen for the hero or any of the characters yet. So far so good, though... (Mind you, I will be putting it down very firmly tomorrow, so that I write rather than read other people's!)

Hope you had our lovely, sunny (and rare) day. :)

Oh, I love this acrobatic man. He has wonderfully curled toes! I wonder if they help him balance? I agree with drumher that the highlights on the trousers are particularly great. The splash of red adds something nice, too. Your figures just amaze me! (And thank you for the nude torso warning...I felt very prepared.)

You have been busy this weekend; hopefully next week things will slow down (another lesson tomorrow?!?). But for the evening, may storms stay away from your noble and proud country.

Say hi to Mom and Dad!

It's so great how you notice these little things on my drawings! I really like his curled toes too, and they (like when I stick my tongue out to concentrate) are certainly essential to his keeping his balance. ;) Yes, nude torsos. I know how delicate my flist is about these things, so I only thought it proper to warn you! lol! Thanks for liking the red splash - I do too.

Yes very busy weekend. I look forward to being unemployed tomorrow. ;)

Mom and Dad say hi!

Thank you so much!

And what is up with this rain? Honestly! And I'm noticing a curious pattern that it mostly rains on Mondays... The climate is up to something.

Still love this! :)

Hope you're having some nice times with your family, and that the weather is cooperating.

It's sunny here, but the forecast is for about 38 C, so I am hunkering down indoors with some air conditioning. :(

One more bike lesson! Does that mean you will be licensed, or will you have to take an exam?

Thank you for still loving this. I thought it would be nice to have it stored here on my own lj as well.

The visit with the parents was very nice and relaxing, thank you, and so far the weather is behaving just fine. But I'm keeping an eye out for those clouds... (though I would certainly rather have our weather than 38C!!! O.o!)

One more bike lesson!
Ah, no, I didn't explain very well.. It was that out of the four lessons so far, three have been in the rain. I still have four more practical lessons to go, a theoretical exam and a practical exam (with the police!!!!) before I have my license. So at least another month yet to drool over what bike to get when I'm done. ;)

This is really elegant, the way he balances himself with such seemingly ease.

Thank you, Rhapsy! :D It was a challenge to make his weight distribution believable. (and I couldn't help thinking a bit about Maedhros while drawing it. ;))
