Y'know, with the recent revelations that Justin Bieber's hit "U Smile" actually turns into a pretty sweet New Age track if you slow it down 800%, and that Hans Zimmer's INCEPTION score does something similar with the movie's signature song, Edith Piaf's "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien," it occurs to me that time-stretched music is going to be a hip thing ( Read more... )

The High Concept example I'd heard of is 9 Beet Stretch; if you hit the right bit, and know the piece well enough, it's quite an experience, hearing the harmonies grind and change incredibly slowly, or really hearing how a sustained cluster of notes is not perfectly unchanging.
