Last night I discovered that SPARTACUS: BLOOD & SAND was available via Netflix streaming, which is how I watch most of my entertainment these days. Maurissa Tancharoen has been plugging it to her Twitter followers because she and the hubby have made it their new gig. So I checked it out

Psst - Lucy Lawless's boobies are definitely in episode 2. I am amused that the spurting blood is a) apparently all arterial gush, and b) needs to be freeze-framed. Because that is totally furthering the realism principle.

I don't know if I'm going to watch past episode two, but I will never be able to enjoy Sliding Doors again.

No, I don't watch TV for the boobs. I don't watch movies for the hawt sex, either. I can find much more interesting things online.

But I am reminded of a conversation I had a few years ago when BIRDS OF PREY was on the air. I was talking about it with someone else, and a woman broke into the conversation to say "I think you just watch it for the sexy girls" in the most condescending way.

I waved her off and said "Please. I have internet porn for that." She actually gasped in shock.

So yeah, if S:B&S is relying on boobs to get me to watch, it ain't gonna happen. Even Lucy Lawless's boobs will be on the web soon enough.

However, this sort of sounds like the kind of thing I want to watch with my girlfriend. Who is out of town. You probably can't stream from the same account to two different locations simultaneously, can you...

That reminds me of the many times I did indeed stay up all night so I could watch Tarzan, the one where Bo Derek took it off.

I just started watching this show - it reminded me of 300 and Gladiator also - but the Gladiator I'm thinking of is the pornographic movie 'Private Gladiator' (from the studio Private).
