Please forgive me if you've answered this question already, but do you want us to code our fics (both header and fic... like the bold tags and lj-cut tags, etc.), or would you just like them to be formatted in Word?
*raises hand* Fiona, is a beta necessary? I don't normally have my stuff beta'd (too damn impatient, and who could keep up with me anyway?), but if it's required for this exchange, I'll need one recommended. I had planned to write my fic this weekend, which would give a beta a good week to get it back to me. I admit I would prefer not to go through the hassle, but if that's the rules, then I will abide. Please let me know!
I believe the rules said "strongly suggested." If you're thorough enough on your own read throughs and comfortable with that being your final product, then I'm not going to force you to do anything. Go with what makes you comfortable.
The header is in that text area above. It's the basic info (minus author/artist as we'll edit that out) that will be posted outside of the lj-cut when we post the gifts.
Word document?! Er, is it okay that I use OO, or... Should I save mine as an RTF? That and .txt are the only Word-supported formats I can do (and trust to work uniformly).
Well, how about you make a private post to your own lj by just copy/pasting the text into the body of your post. no one but you can see the post and you can check to see if it posts the way you want it to. That's what I do to make sure that I've closed all my html codes before I post fic.
