I don't really plan on moving there, but how is dreamwidth different from lj?

I've heard about it but I have no idea. The only things I've heard about it that's different say it's some supar-special-elite thing where you have to be invited by someone who already has one to get in and you only get to invite like 3 people and some people don't get to invite anyone or some shit.

LJ is awesomer times a thousand. It would suck if it was all elite and secretive because LJ is more like a community than an actual journal and anyone should be able to come and make friends and stuff.

LJ works and Dreamwidth doesn't.

Dreamwidth is basically LJ if LJ was all private and secretive. It's got the same kind of updating layouts and all of that. Except it's still in beta testing (with all of the users being the testers), so a lot of stuff doesn't work all the time or doesn't work at all.
