I liked this. The jumping around was nice, and I liked the way you slowly explained how their relationship came to this point. Very nice.

Wonderful--romantic, mythic and it does a wonderful job of jumping off from canon. A lot of "they meet years later" fics somehow ring false--as if the scene at Dumbledore's funeral were enough to explain a seperation lasting past Voldemort's downfall. I loved the backstory here, and the evolution of the relationship within the present of the fic.

And of course Ginny has to be there with Harry saying "Don't die. Please don't be dead..." at some point!

The introduction of the Touchstones threw me at first, because I wasn't sure whether they were simply going to be a McGuffin--something there simply for the characters to angst over. But you integrated them beautifully into the smaller-but-larger story of Harry and Ginny healing their relationship. Nicely done!

Thank you very much for the kind words. I'm not sure what a McGuffin is, but I'll accept your word that my fic didn't have one. :P

:-D

"McGuffin" was a term invented by Alfred Hitchcock to describe the thing in a story that gets everyone all excited--the plans, the bomb, the magical stone--but that doesn't itself actually have any impact on the plot, except that everyone needs something done to/about/with it.

And your touchstones were not McGuffins, not really. :-)

Wow!
Plot and everything! Impressive! I loved it. Just the right amount of flash back stuff in my opionion and no cheesey "they have to do it on the stone for the spell to work" ending. Wow. Great work.

Next time, I will write a fic where they have to do it on the stone for the spell to work. Just for you. *grins*

But this time, thank you for the compliments -- I'm glad you liked it.

Well if anyone could have written the "they had to do it on the stone for the spell to work" ending and NOT had it turn out cheesey, I am sure that you could have pulled it off with the utmost grace. ;-)

This was really quite wonderful! It's such a great look at what could happen after the war is over, and what they would each be doing. One of the best parts of this is that it seems as though almost every sentence draws them closer together, and that's just a perfect feeling. My favourite bit was Harry and Hermione running in different directions because Harry's pain at not being the one to go to Ginny was so tangible. I adore this, completely. :)
