So...if I think I want to do this now, but change my mind later, can I back out? Obviously, if I choose a challenge, I'll stick with it, but does joining the community mean I definitely have to do this?

Sorry, but I've never tried writing-on-demand, but want to. I'm just not sure I'll be able to do it. : )

Great question!! I was also always cautious about joining ficathons because of the writing-on-demand situation, however, the one advantage here is that you get to choose or even suggest your own plot bunny.

To join the community doesn't necessarily mean to claim a challenge and create a fic or artwork, though we hope the people joining will participate. If you decide to claim a challenge, we'll hold you to it and Hermione'll punch you like she did Draco if you don't follow through. :P JUST KIDDING! (sorry, need more sleep.) Siriusly now, if you decide to claim a challenge but then realize that you're not able to do so, just contact me and we'll arrange it so that challenge is available to other authors and artists. Ok?

Wow -- this strikes me as a very good idea. I'm a bit vague on how long we're going to have to write the stories, once we lay claim to our challenges, but I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Challenges will be up next week, and after that, you'll have over 2 months to write your fic (by June 30th). If you have any suggestions for plot bunnies, feel free to comment in the plot bunny challenges! :) Suggestions have been coming in and they look great. I'm exicted too! Thanks for joining! :)
