How about a meetup this weekend?

Hello dear Minnesotan HP fans! One of our fandomers, thistlerose, is moving out of the state in a few weeks, and we thought it'd be a good idea to have a little meetup of HP people before she leaves. :D So we're planning to do something this Saturday, July 19 in the afternoon and/or evening ( Read more... )

I like the Twins game idea, that would be awesome. But I also like the idea of doing something outside a lot; the canoes sound good, or else I'm going to have to think on an idea myself a bit more, since the movie option is out. Normally I'd offer to host at my house, but we have six freeloaders there right now in a two bedroom house as well as myself and a baby (my niece), so that probably isn't the best option. Maybe a barbeque? I don't know. But that would probably involve getting someone willing to host again. I don't know. Let me know at any rate.

SDKla I think it should involve the option of whiskey, whatever we do.

Yeah, it'd be REALLY fun to barbecue! But it would probably require someone to host. I know I can't because my place is positively tiny, so I don't think that'll happen unless someone else turns up who is willing to host. Beth was suggesting an outdoor movie in Cottage Grove, which is kinda far away, but sounds like fun. Maybe we could picnic at a park somewhere and then go to the movie. HMMM. *thinking*

I'm really only familiar with parks in the SW suburbs, but there are several places in EP where we could bbq and at Hyland Lake Reserve (SW Bloomington) there is a park that has boat rentals (!) and picnic tables with grills (and a fun park called chutes and ladders that is supposed to be for kids!).
