The Rules
- On the first (1) of each month, the new challenge for the month will be announced.
- Posting will be open from the time of the challenge post until the end of the month.
- Entries can take the form of text-only or art and text.
- All entries must include the name of the Wizard of the Month (WotM) and his or her birth and death (if applicable) dates. WotMs can be canon characters, original creations for the challenge, original characters from fan fiction, or whatever. The only requirement is that if you use someone else's fanfiction character, you must give credit to the creator within your post and you must get permission from the creator (yes, this is slightly hypocritical since no one is getting permission from JKR, but those are the rules).
- Text-only entries should be between 50 and 500 words while the text accompanying art entries should be between 25 and 250 words.
- Individuals may post more than one entry per challenge but no more than three entries per challenge.
- Each entry must be in its own post. For further information on how to format and tag your entry, please see this post.
- Collaboration (meaning anything involving more than one person working on an entry) is certainly allowed. Just make sure only one person posts the entry and everyone involved is given credit within the body of that entry. At least one person in each collaboration must have an LJ account and be a member of hp_wotm in order to post the entry but non-hp_wotm members and non-LJ users can be part of a collaboration.
- All posts should be limited to moderator posts (announcing monthly themes, opening voting, rules clarifications, etc.) or individual entry posts. Any posts not meeting these rules will be deleted by a moderator.
- Everyone, participants, watchers, lurkers, etc., are encouraged to leave comments on any and all entries.
