Hello, everyone!
I know this community has been awfully quiet and I'm sorry for that. I wish I had more ideas and/or time so we can all pick up interest and not let
hp_wishes die. But for the time being, how about a small discussion?
I assume we are all familiar with
Pottermore already. Well, I want to hear your opinion about it!
There are some excited about

Are you interested in Pottermore?
YES!
Do you think it will keep fandom alive?
It can't hurt!
Do you think fans needed something like Pottermore to keep fandom alive?
I was pretty late to the fandom party, but I think it's still alive. Smaller, maybe, but definitely alive.
Have you signed up/Will you sign up?
I have not signed up yet because real life has been insane, and I haven't had much free time. I didn't want to take one of the early spots when there are folks on my flist desperate to get their letters. I will sign up when it opens to the general public in October.
What are you most looking forward to?
The extra stuff JKR has written, particularly backstory on McGonagall

Have you signed up/Will you sign up? Yes (have signed up)
What are you most looking forward to? Further book content being revealed.
Have you received your letter? Yes, and I've gone through everything that's already posted, which as far as I can tell is only the first book.
And now the (hopefully) non-spoilery version:
I am disappointed now that I've been through the content that's currently available on Pottermore. Once you've gone through it, there's nothing more to do. It's not a site that encourages me to hang out there and chat or do anything. It's visually beautifully done, but there is no way to expand the experience ad infinitum. Once you've done it, it's done.

Do you think fans needed something like Pottermore to keep fandom alive? Yes, though part of me is kind of wishing Rowling would consider writing a book set in the Marauders' era, about the previous generation.
Have you signed up/Will you sign up? I haven't signed up for the beta because I was ridiculously busy with work, but I can wait.
What are you most looking forward to? Any additional content she'll have up there that wasn't already included in the books.
Have you received your letter? No, because I hadn't signed up.

Meanwhile, I'm getting desperate as I watch all my LJ friends get in Pottermore but me! *aaahhhh* hahah
Are you interested in Pottermore?
I wasn't at first but now anxiety won the best of me
Do you think it will keep fandom alive?
I hope so but I'm not sure
Do you think fans needed something like Pottermore to keep fandom alive?
Maybe. I would have chosen a website, though. A book like that Encyclopedia JKR had promised and things like that would have been a better choice imo.
Have you signed up/Will you sign up?
I did and I'm sitting on my hands as I wait for my email :(
What are you most looking forward to?
Seeing what the fuzz is about, lol. New bits of info are nice to have and being sorted by something more official than a silly internet quizz sounds cool.
Have you received your letter?
NO!! :( *cries*

More curious than anything!
Do you think it will keep fandom alive?
I think fandom is alive and well without it but having more information and exciotement definitely can't hurt! So yes I think it will extend fandom's lifespan.
Do you think fans needed something like Pottermore to keep fandom alive?
Not necessarily to keep it alive but I think extra excitement will definitely help keep it going even stronger.
Have you signed up/Will you sign up?
Yes I signed up on day 5 I think.
What are you most looking forward to?
Information on the houses and wandlore and other details into the world of HP.
Have you received your letter?
Not yet :( I was really hoping to get it yesterday on my bday! Maybe today!*crosses fingers*
