How Are We Going to Party at The Riddle House Party?

Jul 30, 2013 13:40

This post is for gathering suggestions on what we want to do when we meet up. In the past there have been quizzes and games. Do we want to do that again? Can anyone offer raffle/gift bag prizes? Is there anything that anyone has always wanted to do with a room full of HP fans? We were sorted into Houses in the past, do we want that again? Cosplay? ( Read more... )

I vote for

1. Sorting
2. Quizz (a difficult one, I can make it! PLEASE)
3. Maybe Wizard Chess with us people as the pieces?
4. What about a Harry Potter drinking game?
5. Harry Potter sing-along songs? Or maybe karaoke?
6. PARTY!!!

I can make prizes. Are chibis okay for in the bags? I'm not good with coming up with a ton of short drabbles though, so I'll have to draw.

Wow!

Sorry about the late reply, I was out of the country and flying more days than not. Add to that my parents' shitty broadband... Gah.

A quiz would be awesome!

I am working on the drinking game. Should we do fanfic cliché classics? I never? Truth or Dare?

*taps chin*

How would the 'I never' work considering the drinking game?

Also; do you guys want me to do art? If so I need to know asap. If I'm going to give everybody one chibi I need to start ;-)

Is there a non-drinking version of I never??

We are not doing goodie bags but we will have a raffle, so any amount (big or small) of chibies would be appreciated and much squeed-about!

That sounds like an amazing idea! I think I have a tie I no longer use!

That's a fanatastic idea!

I've been rummaging around for HP things I could donate but if we could do some kind of swap, that would be grand!

*cough* Also: please note completely pathetic first attempt at icon-making. Feel free to use or to totally ignore :)

I like the icon! Very much.

I like making props, so I could make something for the raffle?

That sounds brilliant. Whatever you can come up with and bring with you will be very gratefully received!

Edited because I can't spell.

Probably too late now, but Pictionary at the first meetup was hilarious and required no prep other than the presence of a flipchart board and a list of HP-ish scenarios to draw.

Yes, I was thinking about that Pictionary recently. That's a great idea. Would you be up for 'hosting' that if I get the pens and paper?

This sounds like fun - just one question regarding the swap/raffle etc - what if you don't have any HP things to swap? I only have my books, a tie and a t-shirt (both of which I'm planning on wearing, at least the t-shirt). And although I'm a writer, I'm not sure anyone would want to swap a story written for them for something else, especially as I might not be known to them at all, even though I've been active in the fandom for going on 10 years now.

Also, I'm not sure if this is the post for it, but I get confused so I figured why not - do we know about how much it's going to cost per person for the renting of Riddle? It's mainly so that I can estimate how much money I need to convert, as I won't be able to take any more out while I'm away (not having a UK bank etc).

Don't worry about having nothing to donate to the raffle, we are just going to share out whatever does come in.

The room hire is going to come out at a little less than £10 each, but as numbers get firmer over the week, I'll work out something exact and post it to the comm.

Great. And thanks. I figured I'd just ask, because it's a big difference between £10 and closer to 30, when you have to budget that out in advance. :)
