Hi there! I've discovered this community quite by accident, but I have a question.

I assume there is no relationship to the now-defunct

I don't see why not, if no one ever got to see and enjoy the art we'd be honored to have it here. But many of the cards are already claimed and I wouldn't want to step on the toes of anyone who already did.

When the fest is over, we'll be keeping the comm open to all fic and art combining HP and the tarot and will be issuing periodic challenges, too, though!

It sounds interesting, but at the moment I'm a bit swamped. So I don't want to make a claim until I know I can actually put the time into it.

I was wondering, are the claims going to stay open until you fill them all or is there a cut off date?

Claims will stay open as long as there are cards not claimed. We didn't see any reason to cut it off, and figure as poeple finish their holiday swap fics and such, more may jump on board. So please do check back when you feel you have time. Now that the initial rush of claiming is over, it's down to about 3-4 claims per week.

i finally got around to friending, and lj informed me that i would not be able to post to the comm. so i'm dumb enough to not understand how i will be posting my fic. can you please explain, in small words? i'm clearly having a stupid day.

i am still looking forward to learning when i should be posting it. :)

I will give everyone posting access starting on February 16th.

Until then, only mods can post. Once the fest starts, then everyone can post--though hopefully people will stick to their assigned days.

It's totally cool, and in fact really neat, if you can work both interpretations into your fic!

*curious* Will there be a Round 2 for the fest? I see that there are still a lot of open claims.

Yes, there will be a Round 2 or something like it. My thought is to open the comm for general posting after April 1st, meaning people could do both unclaimed cards and also additional pieces on cards that had been done during the fest.

Then in mid-summer perhaps, open up claiming again for a month-long round of posting in the fall. Something like that.

So pretty much anything goes after April 1st? No bothering with claims, no deadlines?

And official claiming in the summer?

What if something is written for an unclaimed prompt during the free-for-all? Does it count for the official fest? I'm just spouting ideas, but it seems to make more sense to do the free-for-all after everything has been claimed and done, so there's no blurred lines about what was "official" and what was "extra." Er, take all this with as big a grain of salt as you like, of course: I'm just rambling.

That's more organization than we have really thought about... :)

I think the idea was that during the free for all section it could just be any tarot-themed stories, not necessarily claims, but people are already nagging wanting to put in claims...

Have to think about it.
