I didn't meant to read this right now, but the start of it, and Snape's voice, drew me in right away. Well done.

Oh fabulous. So well written and such depth of thought about what he must have gone through. A lovely catalogue of Severus's canon life. I love the parallel between Severus getting Regulus to leave and failing to get Harry to leave!

Thanks! I have a mild obsession with all the details we don't get to see about Snape's life, and I love to make him the tragic hero, lol.

Your version of Snape's life behind the scenes is wonderful. I love that even though he professes to not feel about things his mental descriptions still have overwhelming emotions rolling off them.

Harry breaking down his defences is lovely and just right. Harry always was the one to provoke a reaction from him.

I like how you've used the interpretation to prompt the fic too. He does indeed wield a double-edged sword and walk that fine line. Maybe with Harry in the picture he can finally settle. *happy sigh*

Thanks! I'm glad that sense came across - I did want to show that even though Snape is stoic he still has powerful emotions that even he may misinterpret at times. Even though all his memories showed choices that didn't turn out so well (at least in his mind), I'm sure this last will be a good one. =)

This is beautiful.
I love the slow calcification of Severus' heart, as layer after layer of scars and fears get built up around it. And how it's Harry, just by egregiously EXISTING at him, who shatters it all.

This is well written, and well handled. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you! Severus's heart is scarred from so many hurts - it hurt me having to do all that to him!

it's Harry, just by egregiously EXISTING at him, who shatters it all - Haha, yes, I love this!
