Thank you. I was pleased. I didn't want to overdo the colour after doing all the shading, plus I thought it could overpower the image, so I'm glad you like it.

Love the wands. And the foreshortening. And that blast of green. I don't know what she does to Bellatrix, but she scares me!

Thank you. I looked at so many references for the foreshortening, because I have something of a questionable relationship with perspective. I'm glad it worked out. Yes, in that moment I always imagined her to be very scary, enraged mama bear kind of scary. Eep!

The colouring and the style you've chosen reminds me of the style used in art during the medieval period, which is very 'tarot', I must say. Also, maybe it's my own interpretation, but I love the 8 suspended wands behind her/alongside her which are different in style and flame. It gives me the impression that her seven children and Arthur are behind her, giving her support. It's wonderful art.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Like my artist's note says, I had a lot of fun with the wands. I like your interpretation too. My own thought was that even though it was Ginny she stepped in front of she would do the same for any of her family, and symbolically she is. She really wants the rest of those flames to stay lit.

Also, the art style? Not intentional at all, but thinking about it I can see what you mean. I was just going with what felt right!

Your style has grown so much in the time I've known you! Love this. The colors almost remind me of wall art in Pompeii and other ancient preserved murals...

Thank you so much. I've definitely had a few sudden realisations of how things work since you've known me. And you're appealing to my historian side too! :D Ah Pompeii.
