Ohhhh.... That's diabolical. I've never read such an interpretation of Lucius before, and I love how conniving Walburga is.

Well done, indeed!

Thank you. He's very young here, and anyone would be nervous of Walberga - but he'll learn ;)

Mm, I don't know what it is about Lucius but I do like him, crafty smooth bastard that he is. I enjoyed this look at the behind-the-scenes Slytherin plotting very much!

What can I say? I like crafty smooth bastards - especially when they meet their match. Thanks.

Lucius is a great Knight of Coins, and I loved the two schemers playing off each other. I also liked the idea that Lucius and Narcissa were having fun before things were settled, that's one I hadn't seen before.

(and yay for reading some of your Lucius on a flu day. Makes me feel much less icky!)

Glad to be of service! Hope you'll feel better soon.

Narcissa's pregnancy was a result of the fact that I needed both her parents to be dead for this scenario to work, and Cygnus was inconsiderate enough to hang on until 9 months before Draco's birthday...

Love this! Lucius is smooth as ever, but Walburga, wow. . .a triumph. The cigarette is a wonderful touch.

Thank you. I seem to be developing a thing about smoking Death Eaters (over an open fire...), and it does seem right for Walberga.

I love this idea of how Lucius started out with Tom Riddle. I've never quite bought the movie version (well, the DH bit that has him as either unrepentant or totally gibbering idiot.)

I love that he's being a Slytherin, calm cool and collected, and that he had been advised to stay clear of Voldemort --not because he didn't totally agree or disagree but because he was a bit out there and Slytherins hedge their bets. I always figured Lucius bought into it for family--I figured his father, but his mother-in-law is just as good a culprit.

Severus makes more sense--angry young man, no prospects and has several very valid reasons to hate Muggles and Dumbledore... I can totally see why he went straight to Voldemort. Lucius was rich and intelligent. His reasons are a lot murkier.

This was lovely and gave a lot of background insight AS USUAL, darling. I so love your background info stories!!!

Thank you. I was working with the card definitions so was a bit constrained. The only thing we know from Canon about Walberga is her hatred of Muggles - so her support of Voldemort seems logical. And Lucius is very young, and just a bit obsessed with Cissa...
