This is lovely. I think it's brevity really works, honestly. It's not as if the twins would have held still long enough for a longer fic anyway. ;-)

I found out at the Harry Potter "movie magic" exhibit in NYC last month that the wand I have is a replica of George Weasley's wand. Coincidence?

OMG, I don't care what the word count is. That's so tremendously evocative, and so beautiful. And so sad. The evocation of The Sun (which card often shows a happy pair of twins) and tying it together with Icarus/Daedalus, and flying in the magical world, and fireworks... oh, just perfectly done.
