Oh, this was such an interesting plot...I told myself I was going to save it for later, but I just couldn't, lol. Ron was an interesting character here, probably more intriguing than I've ever seen him before, and Severus seems much more human than we are led to believe in canon (which happens in a lot of fics, I think). Anyway, lovely entry!

Wow, thanks!! Ron has such a volatile temper that I thought the possibility of darkness wasn't much of a stretch. And Snape is so often seen as a one dimensional character that I loved looking just a little bit deeper. I'm so glad you liked it. *bounces*

Oh, and your icon is love!!!

Yay! I lOOove Ron/Severus! (so glad that you decided to post it here!)

I really like this side of Ron; I think he definitely has the potential for it, and the brain scars affecting his personality is a really interesting idea - it makes sense that there would be side effects? And who better to learn control of emotions from than Snape, indeed? There just so much I love about this, and it all works so well together. My favorite moment was the conversation about pretending...gah! So intense!

Thanks, honey. This idea had been brewing for a while and I was glad to finally get it written.

I honestly thought that they had glossed over the whole brain scar attack. I was really worried about what she was going to do to poor Ron at the end of OoTP and then...nothing!

I'm so glad you liked this!!

*hugs you*

what I want to know is - did Ron suspect, at the end there, that Snape might still be on their side?

Yes, I think Ron did suspect that Snape was on their side. I believe they had come to an understanding, sensing a kinship between them, even if they couldn't stand each other. *g* Does that make sense?

yes it does. I actually love Ron/Snape. its a secret otp of mine..along with Albus dumbledore/snape. I have weird tastes.

It does make sense, in a way, that Ron could understand, even in that moment, the game that Snape is in. And I love their relationship here.

Do you have any other ron/snape fics? I'd love to hear more from you

This is actually my first Ron/Snape fic. It's my guilty pleasure pairing. I've tried hunting as much of it down as I can but there's just not enough of it out there. I've written some Ron/Draco and I did a Snape/Lupin. But most of the HP fic I've written has been for hp_tarot.

Oooh, lovely. God I have such a weakness for canon-rewrites of this type, and you do such a lovely job of setting it up. In the books there's no aftermath of the brain attack at all, and this is a terrific way of looking at it! I also love Snape. You've captured his POV so brilliantly here. Lovely job! And such a nice fit to the card interpretations, too.

I was really nervous about not getting Snape right. He really is my favorite character and I didn't want to do him wrong. I'd kinda had an idea that I wanted to do something centering around the Brain scars but no real outline. Then I pulled those cards and got a little nervous. But they worked out so well I guess it was just meant to be. I really enjoyed writing this and I'm really happy you liked it too. *g*

This is a very interesting take on the effects of the Brains. I've read a few and like the concept. Ron/Snape is such an unlikely pair, but fun to read for a change.
Cheers.
