Wow, that was intense. Regulus story was so painful - especially the part when he realises that his mother used him as a tool to get her revenge on Derek and Sirius at the same time. I liked the connection you made to Draco by having him read the diary. And I loved the dynamics between Regulus, Sirius and the rest of the Black family.

Thank you for this exciting read! :-)

As I said yesterday, I love all the details about the Black family.

Maybe if I’d been in Gryffindor as well Sirius and I could’ve been proper brothers again.*sigh* So many possibilities ( ... )

My God.

There are so many things to like about this story that if I singled them all out I'd be writing a review longer than the story itself. So just three:

- Most of the ornaments bounced because Mama sweeps things off the mantelpiece quite a lot so Papa told Kreacher to Charm them all. I don’t think Sirius has ever realised how much he behaves like Mama. A terrific and convincing detail.
- the terrible heritage you set up for Regulus. Blacks Don't this, Blacks Don't the other - all in solemn capitals because they've been drummed into him over and over.
- the changing voices - child and teenage Regulus, and Draco himself. You don't even need the change in typeface (though it works superbly): your voices are so consistent that it's always obvious who is speaking. I loved this: and if that hadn’t been an incentive to join the Death Eaters he didn’t know what was; Potter was useless. So Draco!

Brilliant.

*barges into your review* Ooh, I'm glad you liked this, too!

For me, the vivid terrible background (for both Regulus and Draco) is what really makes this story stand out - it's so beautifully and convincingly drawn.
