"Really?" Sirius asked, sounding delighted.

Regulus shot him a look. "You are such a bloody Gryffindor, it's embarrassing."

I love this. It's - bittersweet, and lovely, and the best story I've read about Sirius's last summer with his family thus far. Believable, and beautiful. Thank you.

That was an excellent look at Sirius's last time spent with his family and what pushed him to finally make the break. I like that you made Sirius and Regulus close, I think they would have been at one point, but it's sad since they undoubtedly grew apart but were maybe not so different from each other in the end. The bit of darkness infused in the Black family as Sirius discovers more about their pure-blood agenda feels rather sinister which was great. And I loved the description, I could picture everything perfectly. Lovely writing. ^^

This was so much more than I asked for! Sirius and Regulus... the way you portrayed them is absolutely unbeatable. They have that Black edge to them. Absolutely fabulous characterization for everyone, really.

Regulus opened his mouth to protest this sweeping generalisation, but thought better of it. "Getting sentimental in your old age? All right then, I - Sirius, I'm going to have to kill you after this - I suppose I love you too. I still maintain you're an idiot, however."

Love that bit. Actually, that scene was my favorite! Thank you so very much.

I'm so pleased you liked it! Thank you for such a fabulous prompt, I'd been meaning to write something like this for a while, and I really enjoyed myself - so much so I'm planning on reworking this with some DH canon, I think.
