This is beautiful. You have captured her melancholy and longing so well here, especially with Merope's hopeless expression and twisted posture. The black and white palette and the geometric hatching give the piece a perfectly stark atmosphere too, and the undefined shapes inside the house hint at a definite sense of menace. Brava!

Thanks! I wibbled over her posture for quite some time, and it's the first time I think that I more or less nailed the hatching appropriotely...And justa s long as you don't think she's too pretty. HBP says PLAIN, not jaw-droppingly deformed.

I love this--it's got a nice old-fashioned illustration look, and I'm a sucker for ink drawings. The vague ominosity of the inside of the house is fantastic, as is the general sense of unrest shown by Merope's twisted position, the twisted plants, and the unkempt house. Splendid work!

This is truly haunting, and reminds me of a children's book illustration. I really like her twisted form and awkwardness, and I love the sense of unease in the house.
