Who? For now, Fenrir Greyback and Remus Lupin.
What? One weird 'family reunion.'
When? Wednesday night - the full moon.
Why? Because there are many scores to settle, once and for all.
This was it. This was the night he had been looking forward to for weeks. Years, really, if someone were to get technical about things, but it was finally here. He would finally get to face Fenrir Greyback.
Usually Remus Lupin was not a man of conflict, unless it was absolutely necessary. He was also not one to go out of his way to seek out revenge by his own hand, but somehow along the way things had changed for this situation. Too many lines had been crossed, too many lives had been hurt, and Remus saw it upon himself to stop Fenrir Greyback. Not just for him, but for every child he had ever hurt. For Scorpius Malfoy and his family. For Andromeda and for Sirius, for when Fenrir had hurt them back in St Mungos. For his own son.
It was the latter that got to him the most, the one that was helping him get into that mindset he needed for a fight like this. Fenrir had hurt his son. He was one of the reasons why he was still in the infirmary, and adding this to everything else just left Remus furious. Livid, actually, and with that anger pulsing through his veins he set out towards where they had agreed to meet.
He had to win. There was no alternative in his mind.
Prongs and Tonks had come along, in case Fenrir had brought back-up of his own, but they would not interfere as long as the fight stayed how it was supposed to be: One-on-one, wolf against wolf. In fact, they would not even be in plain sight, because this was his fight. This was for him to settle.
As soon as the full moon started to rise, Remus didn't fight the transformation how he usually did. He welcomed it this time, every bit of it; the bones breaking and shifting, the skin stretching, and even the pain. Especially the pain. This was what Fenrir made him go through every month, what he had been living through for so many years. This was what he made many others live through; it was time for him to experience just some of that pain.
Once the change was complete, he let out a long, loud howl to make his presence known and inform Fenrir that he was there and ready.
It was time for Fenrir to meet his pup, as he called him.
It was time for that blasted 'family reunion.'
