That's a very convincing use of canon - Ginny as an eighth horcrux, and Snape seeing her simlarity to Lily. A fascinating twist on the prisoner theme too. And a chilling end.

Thank you! Yeah, I always wondered why there aren't more fics out there that note Ginny's similarities to Lily. The fact that she ends up with Harry Potter, who looks so much like James, must have seemed like history repeating itself to Snape. And of course I was disappointed, like many fans, that Rowling didn't examine the consequences of a child being possessed by something so evil. But yeah, thanks. : )

Oh noez! *hands over handkerchief* I think if Snape were a little more open and trusting and Ginny were a little less influenced with evil, then there would have been real potential for love to grow. Considering that Ginny understands darkness firsthand after getting possessed, I think Snape would have intrigued her and reminded her of Tom (I think the diary was very seductive and she was probably enamored with Tom, even if she was eventually repulsed by what he made her do.) And even if she reminded Snape of Lily, I believe in this story his love for her grew in its own right.

But thank you! : )

This is fantastic! I haven't read any HP in a long, long time, but this is truly a fabulous twist. It never even occurred to me to wonder how, exactly, Ginny became such a brilliant witch after having only a Bat Bogey Hex as her claim to fame!

This is completely chilling and I do mean that as a compliment. I love how Ginny has out foxed Snape. Well done!
