Aaaaah, this was awesome!! Loved the opening scene and how it grabbed onto characterisations right away, especially James's realisation that he was neither family nor a lover. Aw! And I loved how their backstory slowly unfolded. And James the wandmaker! Fabulous! I admit I thought at first that the D/s came out of nowhere a bit, but by the end of the fic, you'd sold me. :) Of course as readers we were all thinking Teddy's hesitation four years ago was due to James's age, which it kind of was, but I'm super into the idea now that it was something else, too, a;klsdfj. And the thing that brought me on board with all of it was just how gorgeous that final sex scene was. I love how inventive you were with positions and roles. Who's the sub, who's topping, how are they talking to each other, etc., all really turned fandom conventions on their heads, ALL in ways I loved. :) OH, before I forgot, holy balls, Scorpius Malfoy cameo for the mf win. What a gorgeous, charismatic character in that one brief scene. UNF ( ... )

This is fabulous - great plot, great characterisation, beautifully emotionally true and some fine smut to finish with! A great read.
