honestly, i think this would be a terribly sticky situation. you really can see both ron's and hermione's POV, and then poor harry is just caught in the middle. you captured all of their personalities dead on, so true to canon.
Thanks so much, hon! You knw the problem I have with writing Hermione, so it's nice to hear she comes across as canonical.
It took forever to figure out how Hermione might end up with house-elves, I'll tell you! She just really LOVED that house! (BTW, I went back and fixed that horrendous paragraph so that it more closely resembles something like English...)

That Hermione, boy, I don't know what to do with her sometimes. She can be annoying at times, but there is something about her that is endearing. I adored this story, the trio was highly canon and love the dynamic you've created between them! Great job Hon!

Oh, thank you! I hope the fact that she can still make a pig's breakfast of things makes Hermione seem more human. I've noticed some of the most scholarly and intelligent people I know are the ones who have the most problems with common sense and aren't very street savvy.
Glad you liked the interaction, too. I like Ron being all understanding and caring and whatnot. He's just a big marshmallow wrapped in a gruff husk. LOL
“Ron,” Harry chuckled derisively. “You never even saw a house-elf until you were fourteen! How would you know how to deal with them?”
“Well, no, I never saw one,” Ron rebutted, “but I listened to Mum whinge about how she wished she had one for long enough. I knew what they were and what they did.”
How nice to see that the fruit of my labor intensive research on your behalf has yielded an entire 5 sentences in this piece:P
If it wasn't gen i would have politely poked you, never fear. This fic is the perfect example of what I mean when I say a gen fic can have some pairing elements present. The primary focus is about friendship and Hermione's complete failure to grasp the concept that most house elves have no desire to be free, and helping her see that her efforts to be kind is actually making her unintentionally cruel at times to the elves in her service. The Harry/Ron element is secondary to the storytelling and as such makes this a gen fic.
