I adored this. I rarely venture into new pairings (a weakness of mine) but I'm glad I took a risk in reading this - it was quite worth it.

As for your note that sex isn't the main focus of the story - I think it works better that way. The setting (in regards to time) of the story makes the majority of the subject matter rather serious; I think the emotional focus is much more appropriate.
