I stick to what I said to you yesterday. This IS couched in language more coarse than is usual, but it doesn't matter. The voice is internal and true to the character. He WOULD use that language.

It paints a picture of a young man who is almost ground down under the horror of a regime that is destroying the life he knows. Everything good is being systematically destroyed and he takes the little pleasure in what he can find. It reminds me forcibly of the sex scenes in "1984" with that same brittle falseness.

The cake imagery was so forcible and so bloody hopeless "So you look for the eggs and the mix in all the wrong places "

Perhaps on some level, it resonates with my own life experiences. Maybe that's why I love this. So very very powerful, and the image of Draco watching Ron walk away.

*guh*

Thank you so much - I will add it to the archive tonight.

I'm finding that I do so *love* your reviews. If I wrote half as many glowing comments as you do the fandom would be a much happier place lol.

Thank you. I had trouble with the title - for a while I just wanted to call it 'Secret' but then that seemed too basic. Honestly, I need to participate in fandom more! Lately for me it's been all about drive-by ficcage, but there are just so many brilliant minds to pick that I should really take advantage of the community more than I do.

Thank you.

This is exactly the sort of response I had hoped to evoke to the fic.
