Stunning. I love the references to A Separate Peace and Death in Venice (and Genet, for that matter)-- lovely and subtle (heh-- or maybe not-so-subtle) allusions.

And this: He did, of course, love Sirius. He loved him in that roundabout, unwilling way. He loved him as you need to love a brother - angrily, frustratingly, presently.

Wonderful.

I have a tendecy to cram all my favourite books into stories. I picked those because of the mood the books convey - obsession in Death in Venice, devotion/rivalry in A Separate Peace and, well, I just love Genet so much :D

Thank you so much :) I'm glad you liked it.

the thing about sirius/regulus fic is that it has to written right, the tone has to fit otherwise it comes accross as something else and wrong. this was perfect.
the language was stunning and the slow building of tension was perfect. i loved regulus, how he changed but didn't at the same time, the true him the person he would be after sirius left was just lying under the surface.

so beautiful and haunting

Regulus turns his head away bitterly. Sirius could always do this, no matter what. No matter how confident Regulus was, how self-assured he was about his body, his mind, his strength; Sirius could always make him feel so small. A turn of the head, a twitch of the lips, a scowl or a frown and Regulus felt like a child, like the twelve-year-old who wanted desperately to kiss his god of a brother, like the teenager who met with this adolescent deity in dark corners so they could rub and fumble in shadows, like the boy who crawled in his brother’s bed so he could hear how much Sirius loved him. Regulus hates him for it.sums the whole ( ... )

Oh wow, thank you so much :D I was really worried if I hit the right tone (a lot of my friends are huge Regulus people, so I didn't want to disappoint) I'm glad it came across the right way, though :)

*is broken*

That was beautiful. From the first, you blew me away; the cinema scene was so perfect and the characterisations were so fragile. You're brilliant! :p

Good job, hon.
